Aisha Thomas is an award-winning speaker, writer, and founder of Representation Matters Ltd, a training consultancy supporting public, private, and education organisations on their journey of cultural change.

Originally trained in Law, then transitioning to a career in education becoming an influential Assistant Principal in East Central Bristol, she is now a doctoral research candidate researching anti-racist praxis, trauma and education. Aisha focuses her practice on race, racism and the ideology of whiteness. Her expertise and insights have been showcased in a BBC documentary exploring the shortage of Black teachers in Bristol and her compelling TEDx talk, emphasising the critical need for representation. She is also the acclaimed author of Becoming an Anti-Racist Educator (2022) and a respected guest lecturer at multiple universities.

Aisha has received numerous awards including the Positive Role Model for Race/Ethnicity at the Bristol Diversity Awards 2020, Baton Awards Campaigner of the Year 2021, Rise Awards Entrepreneur of the Year 2022 and was appointed an MBE in 2022 underscoring her significant contributions to education and anti-racist practice.
