General Questions
- Who are You Collective?
We are a leadership and culture change community committed to creating positive sustainable workplaces fit for the future, that exist to serve a greater purpose. We bring decades of experience in leadership development, business psychology, culture change, diagnostics and learning events to select the right methodology to challenge, inspire and create true shift and growth that lasts. We passionately believe that sustainable transformation will only happen when your context is considered in every sense, and that systems are put in place to support the change.
- What do you do?
We help leaders to really understand who they are and how they can positively impact their team context, their organisations and society as a whole. Supporting leaders to recognise, appreciate and maximise their impact and potential, in order to create a successful organisational culture that can last.
We have a variety of ways to support your organisations embed and sustain a culture that is fit for the future from coaching, leadership development, team development and culture assessment and development.
Rooted in the desire to seek a space to have more meaningful, challenging and truthful conversations for individuals to tap into their impact and potential, the YC method was created. With over 50 years of experiences in leadership development, business psychology, culture change, diagnostics, and learning events the YC method incorporates all of this into your context to create the right methodology to challenge, inspire and create true shift and growth that lasts. We passionately believe that true shift and sustainability will only happen when your context is considered in every sense, and that systems are put in place to support the change.
- What makes YOU different?
We have spent over 50 collective years operating in corporate spaces with traditional teaching style leadership development programmes, offering coaching solutions, culture change programmes and events that felt disconnected from the human beings, offering surface level information and challenge.
We were desperately seeking a space where we could have more meaningful challenging and truthful conversations, which brought us to creating that space for ourselves and for others to join in too.
This space is where we can have deep, uncomfortable, challenging and meaningful conversations that uncover painful truths, deep self-introspection and passionate commitment to action. We don’t offer training courses but experiences for individuals, teams and leaders to come together and explore their reality and future visions.
This might be the dreamers in us but we truly believe in our hearts and supported by the science that people have been creating versions of themselves to fit into a corporate structure that conceals their true potential, and it is time to knock down those structures and free the incredible potential within.
A place where you are challenged to stretch into, uncover and never apologise for being YOU.
- What's your philosophy?
Our approach is guided by our values:
You shaped
We believe in valuing, uncovering, unleashing and empowering the uniqueness of individuals. Helping people explore what makes them exceptional and diverse and appreciating this in others as well as ourselves, enables us to collaborate fully and withhold judgement in favour of listening and acceptance, in service of YOU.Science based
At our heart, we are organisational, science and self-improvement geeks. We strive to assimilate, translate and embed our combined 50 plus years of experience along with current research into everything we do. From informing our YC methodology and everything that underpins our programmes to the events and people experiences, science and self-improvement is always at the heart of our why.Seek truth
Openness and honesty aren’t just words, they are a mantra that guide our culture. Doing the right thing and the courageous thing by ourselves, colleagues and clients. This is by no means the easy or comfortable option but for us it is essential. We believe in calling it out and naming it, and helping others to find that openness and honesty, often masked and hidden in corporate spaces.Growth mindset
We believe if you’ve stopped learning and growing, it’s time to create a change. Life is an ongoing lesson, and we strive to reflect on and explore as many of these lessons as possible. We are dedicated to creating space to challenge ourselves and others to learn and grow. - What psychometrics do you use?
There is no one diagnostic or psychometric tool we use as a business. With over 50 years of experience in leadership development, business psychology, and culture change, we have a broad, eclectic and ever growing mix of tools and resources we call on to ensure the right methodology is used for our clients.
Having said that we hold a strong philosophy around growth mindset and a humanistic approach, which are rooted in strengths-based psychology.
